Burnely’s loan move for Borussia Dortmund defender Soumaila Coulibaly hangs in the balance, according to Kicker.
The 19-year-old central defender underwent a medical a few days ago and was ready to sign on the dotted line and be announced as a Burnley player for the upcoming Premier League season.
However, there appears to be a disagreement between both Borussia Dortmund and Burnley over the obligation to buy fee at the end of Coulibaly’s one-year loan. The fee was originally set at €17.5m but the sum is now being questioned. It’s unclear whether this has come from BVB or Burnley.
Coulibaly joined Borussia Dortmund from PSG in 2021, signing his first professional contract but has played just 61 minutes across two games for Die Schwarzgelben, one in the Champions League and the other in the Bundesliga. A prominent figure in BVB’s second team, the Frenchman played 25 games and also played four games in the UEFA Youth League.
