Despite reports linking him with a move away from Mainz, Jonathan Burkardt has no plans to leave the club this summer.

Jonathan Burkardt wants to spend the next season at Mainz 05.
“The current status is that I will stay with Mainz and definitely play the season here,” Burkardt told Kicker.
Much to his own surprise, the striker has recently been linked with a move to Newcastle United.
“I don’t know anything about it myself and it doesn’t interest me at all,” he emphasized.
The 22-year-old forward was Mainz’s leading goalscorer last season, finding the net 11 times in the Bundesliga.
