According to Ouest-France, Bruno Genesio is likely to remain at Stade Rennais, despite the club’s current poor run of form.
Rennes have won just two of their first 12 Ligue 1 games this season. For a team that had designs on another European qualification and that have designs on European qualification, that is not good enough. Sunday’s defeat against Olympique Lyonnais, who up to that point had not yet won a game this season, was a low point, and post-match, Genesio admitted that he was aware of the danger he was in.
“When you have two wins in 12 matches, you know you’re in danger. That’s the manager’s job,” he told Prime Video Sport. However, whilst there is an ongoing reflection over Genesio’s future, it is believed that the former Lyon manager will retain his job. The President and shareholders, who were engaged in multiple meetings on Monday, also discussed the future of sporting director Florian Maurice, however, like Genesio, he is also likely to remain in his post.
