As reported by Sky Germany, Premier League side Brighton are monitoring Nürnberg attacking midfielder Can Uzun.
The 17-year-old has been a sensation at the Max-Morlock-Stadion so far this season. Despite his tender age, Uzun has been able to register twelve appearances in all competitions for Nürnberg this campaign.
The Bavarian outfit currently sit eighth in the 2. Bundesliga, which is a significant improvement compared to last season, and they have their teenage Wunderkind to thank. With five goals in eleven league outings, Uzun has quickly become a star in Germany’s second tier.
However, it was in the first round of the DFB-Pokal that he began to make a name for himself with three goals and two assists, as Nürnberg overcame Oberneuland 9-1. After a remarkable breakthrough into senior football, Uzun has caught the attention of Brighton, who could offer the Der Club over €10m in order to prize him away to the English South Coast.
Nevertheless, Nürnberg’s sporting director, Olaf Rebbe, has stated that a move away from the club is not on the horizon: “We’ll see what the future brings. But this season a change is not an issue.”
