Germany’s preeminent footballing publication reports that KSC midfielder Tim Breithaupt’s move to FC Augsburg is close to being finalized.

Kicker Magazine reports that Karlsruher SC defensive midfielder Tim Breithaupt’s long-rumored move to FC Augsburg has entered the final stages. Kicker claims that the 21-year-old is due in the Fuggerstadt tomorrow for a medical. Should there be no issues, a €2.5 million transfer should be finalized soon.
The youngster has turned the heads of more than a few scouts with his stalwart performances as a versatile six who can play as a sweeper and fill in as a central defender. The player’s estimated market worth shot up to €3.5 million over the course of a season in which he made 24 mostly solid appearances for the KSC across all competitions.
Despite not playing very far forward, Breithaupt scored two goals and chipped in one assist. Several top-tier sides were reported to be interested in him during the winter transfer period. As of yet, the Offenburg-native has not been capped at German youth level yet. The new, grander stage might help rectify that.
