Borussia Dortmund suffered an injury blow in Tuesday’s 2-0 Champions League defeat to Chelsea when Julian Brandt was forced off early in the first half.
The ‘Black and Yellows’ have now revealed that Brandt has torn muscle fibers in his thigh. As a result, he will miss the upcoming derby against Schalke 04 and next week’s clash with FC Köln.
In other Dortmund injury news, Sky Germany reports that club captain Marco Reus is also in danger of missing Saturday’s match against Schalke 04 due to illness.
Giovanni Reyna, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Donyell Malen are all ready to step in for Brandt – and Reus, should he not recover in time for the game.
