Bild reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach are pushing to make their third signing of the summer as they intensify their efforts for Sochaux midfielder Skelly Alvero.
The 21-year-old currently has a contract until 2025 at the second division team. Gladbach are facing competition from first-division French teams for the midfielder and that could see his price rise to €3m. Alvero has played 30 times for Sochaux this season in what is his first in senior professional football.
Gladbach have previously scouted the French second division having previously signed Manu Koné and Nathan Ngoumou from Toulouse in the past.
Another player on Gladbach’s list is Habib Diallo of Strasbourg. The striker has scored 17 goals this season for the French side this season as they sit 14th in Ligue 1. However, with a market value of €14m, Diallo may be too expensive for Gladbach. The 27-year-old was a strike partner at times for Mainz forward Ludovic Ajorque who has impressed since his January move.
