Sport Bild reports that after Borussia Mönchengladbach’s shock cup exit to Saarbrücken, the club will have to make up for the lost prize money by selling some of their players.
Gladbach are expected to sell key players in the summer to generate funds to help their much-needed rebuild. Manu Koné can leave for at least €20m, Florian Neuhaus will cost an interested club around €15m whilst Nico Elvedi and Joe Scally will cost €10m.
Three new players are also expected to join Gladbach in the summer as the club looks to rebuild the squad around centre-piece Rocco Reitz.
The club are reportedly looking for a new midfielder who has leadership qualities, this is likely Holstein Kiel captain Philipp Sander who is set to join the club, someone who possesses good dribbling qualities and a playmaker. The club have recently been linked with former Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Daichi Kamada who could fit those qualities. While Fortuna Düsseldorf’s Ao Tanaka is also an option at the club.
