As reported by Sky Germany, Borussia Mönchengladbach are already looking at replacements to Yann Sommer with the goalkeeper moving towards leaving as a free agent in 2023. Former RB Leipzig goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo is the player that Gladbach has shown interest in.
Gladbach approached Mvogo last summer as it was rumored that Sommer would leave the club but the 33-year-old ended up staying at the club. Mvogo then left Leipzig for Lorient in France. If Sommer is to leave then Mvogo will become the next target.
Mvogo only played 19 times for Leipzig during his five-year stay at the club initially spending the first three years as backup to Péter Gulácsi before then spending two years on loan at PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands before finally leaving Leipzig for France this past summer.
Gladbach had previously been open to using Jan Olschowsky as number one as he played in goal against Bochum and Borussia Dortmund this season, but clearly as of late, Gladbach have decided that it may be too early to promote the 24-year-old.
