Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund are considering making a move for Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch.
Dortmund are discussing whether to pursue a move for the 29-year-old. It would look like Ducksch will be the backup to Sébastien Haller as Anthony Modeste’s contract expires in the summer and has not impressed at all.
Ducksch is a former Dortmund player having made his debut under Jürgen Klopp but was ultimately sold to St Pauli in 2016 for €250k. While current boss Edin Terzic is a fan of the striker having coached Ducksch in the Dortmund under-17s.
The 29-year-old has a release clause worth €7.5m. However, Ducksch has already attracted interest from Union Berlin and Torino in Italy. The attraction of playing for his hometown team as well as potentially European football with Dortmund could persuade him.
After a slow start to the season, Ducksch has gone on to score 12 goals for Bremen this season, carrying the burden as of late due to the absence of strike partner Niclas Füllkrug.
