Borussia Dortmund see Ajax’s Edson Álvarez as a possible successor to Jude Bellingham, according to Bild.
It’s becoming increasingly likely that the 19-year-old English international will leave BVB this summer for Real Madrid. It is reported that personal terms between Bellingham and Real have almost been agreed and a meeting is to be set up with Borussia Dortmund to complete the agreement.
With the money that will be generated from such a deal, Dortmund certainly have the funds to look for a clear replacement. One such player is Edson Álvarez from Ajax. The Mexican international is a key player for the Dutch side and head coach John Heitinga is keen on keeping the midfielder.
Ajax are aware of the interest but are still insisting he is there to stay. However, everyone has their price. It’s reported that the club value the 25-year-old at around €50m, a fee which BVB could reach with the funds generated from a possible Bellingham deal.
