Union Berlin veteran Leonardo Bonucci has been heavily linked with a move to AS Roma in recent weeks.
However, according to several reports from Italy, Bonucci will not be joining the Italian capital club in January after all.
According to TUTTOmercatoWEB, Roma coach José Mourinho has other goals and priorities in mind.
Negative reactions on social media and doubts about Bonucci’s sporting level are factors that may have led to Roma’s decision.
The 36-year-old is now likely to stay and fulfill his contract with Union, which expires at the end of the season.
