According to Bild, Mohamed Amoura’s proposed move from Wolfsburg to Benfica has collapsed.
SL Benfica have recently been pushing to sign Mohamed Amoura from VfL Wolfsburg, but the Portuguese club have now decided to cool their interest in the forward, according to Bild.
One reason is that Kerem Aktürkoğlu looks set to stay in Lisbon, removing the Portuguese side’s urgent need to sign a replacement.
Additionally, Wolfsburg’s asking price of at least €35 million was considered too high, with Benfica only willing to pay around €29 million.
That doesn’t necessarily mean Amoura will stay at the Volkswagen Arena, though, as the 25-year-old is understood to be eager to take the next step in his career.
Wolfsburg kick off their Bundesliga campaign against Heidenheim on Saturday.
