Borussia Dortmund have reason to be hopeful of keeping Jude Bellingham beyond the summer, despite interest in the midfielder from Europe’s top clubs.

According to Bild, there is a 50-50 chance that the England international will still be playing for Dortmund next season.

The German tabloid claims that Dortmund could offer Bellingham a salary increase from €6 million to €15 million to persuade him to stay.

Bellingham, who is under contract until 2025, has been linked with Manchester City and Liverpool. A sale would fetch well over €100 million.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl recently said in an interview on ZDF that he will “try” to keep Bellingham at the club.

“I can’t say today what will happen in the summer. I can only say that there have been no talks with him and his family,” Kehl said.

“He could come and say ‘I want to do something new’. Or he might say, ‘I want to stay,’ and then we’ll extend the contract.

“I’ll try. Why not?”
