Julian Nagelsmann acted quickly to replace Niclas Füllkrug for Germany’s game against Northern Ireland. Maximilian Beier gets the call for the first time in a year as he’ll replace the West Ham striker for Sunday’s game in Köln.
The Borussia Dortmund forward has played four games off the bench for Germany and is yet to score for the national team. He started Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Union Berlin just before the international break.
Nagelsmann’s team is playing tonight’s game with only one designated striker on their squad. Newcastle United’s record signing Nick Woltemade starts as Germany’s number 9 for the very first time.
