Over the past few days, the DFB-Pokal match between Saarbrücken and Bayern Munich has been in doubt due to difficult conditions caused by heavy rain.
However, the German Football Association has now confirmed that the match will go ahead as scheduled on Wednesday evening.
“After inspecting the pitch in Saarbrücken, those responsible have decided that the match can go ahead as planned this evening,” the DFB announced on Wednesday morning.
The turf at Ludwigspark had been badly affected by the rain over the past few days. On Sunday, the match against Dynamo Dresden had to be called off at halftime.
