Bayern want to keep Jamal Musiala for as long as possible, says club president Herbert Hainer.

Herbert Hainer to remain Bayern president

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has explained just how keen the German champions are to extend Jamal Musiala’s contract, which expires in 2026.
“[Bayern board member for sport] Hasan Salihamidzic has already said that there were talks even before the World Cup,” Hainer told Abendzeitung.

“Jamal was one of the bright spots in the German [World Cup] team, and the elimination was certainly not his fault. You’ve seen that even at his young age he can compete at the highest level at a World Cup and provide impetus – and he’s just at the start of his career.”

Hainer added that Musiala “wants to become the best player in the world”, saying Bayern want to “accompany him on this path.”

“He has a long-term contract with us, and we want him to stay with FC Bayern as long as possible – preferably forever,” emphasized the Bayern chief.
