Bayern Munich are reportedly set to appoint Christoph Freund as their new sporting director.
Freund, currently sporting director at RB Salzburg, will take up his new role on September 1, according to Bild and Sky Germany.
Hasan Salihamidzic was relieved of his duties as Bayern’s board member for sport on the final matchday of last season, and the German champions have been searching for a replacement ever since.
46-year-old Freund has been with RB Salzburg since 2006. He has been their sporting director since 2015 and will now apparently take on a new role in Munich.
