Bayern Munich will begin negotiations with Manchester City for Kyle Walker 

As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich will begin negotiations for Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker next week. 

After informing Pep Guardiola of his decision to depart the reigning European champions, both Bayern and City will begin negotiations for the 33-year-old in Tokyo where they will meet ahead of a pre-season friendly. It is expected that both clubs will reach an agreement of €15m plus add-ons. 

However, it is unlikely that current Bayern castaway Benjamin Pavard will be part of any potential swap deal. Guardiola’s side have identified the Frenchman as a possible replacement for the departing Walker, as Pavard can offer cover across the backline in a similar manner to the England international.

With a two-year deal offered to the 33-year-old, it is understood that personal terms will not be a stumbling block in the transfer. For Bayern, Walker represents an ideal piece of business, as he can offer improved quality to the side at right-back, while also implementing his leadership qualities into the dressing room.

Once the singing of Walker is finalised, Bayern can put their full attention on Tottenham striker Harry Kane. Despite Tottenham’s clear desire to keep hold of their captain, Kane has informed the club that he will not sign a contract extension in order to speed up a move to the Rekordmeister.
