Bild report tonight that Bayern Munich have made an initial offer to Liverpool for Luis Diaz (28), worth a reported €52m. This is significantly below the Premier League champions’ valuation of the Colombian winger, which is around €80m.
As previously reported, Bayern Munich have no intention of paying more than €60m for Diaz who will be 29 at the start of next year meaning he has little to no resale value, although that does not bother the Rekordmeister as they want to build a squad that will win the Champions League now.
Diaz has also assured Bayern Munich of his willingness to join the Bundesliga champions but on Monday, there had been no negotiations with Liverpool. That has changed now after Bayern submitted their opening offer.
In addition to Bayern Munich, Barcelona have also shown interest in signing Diaz following their failed pursuit of Nico Williams, who signed a contract extension at Athletic Club. It’s unlikely that Liverpool will accept Bayern’s initial offer, but Max Eberl and Co. appear to be testing the water.
