Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich will receive €20m (€16m+€4m) from Sevilla for 20-year-old French defender Tanguy Nianzou.
The Bundesliga club have also secured a sell-on clause more than 20% for the French youth international as well as a matching right clause and a buy-back option for Nianzou after Nianzou completed his move to the Spanish club on Wednesday afternoon.
“We signed Tanguy Nianzou two years ago because we believe in his great potential. Nothing has changed in that respect,” said Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić. “However, we currently have a very good and flexible defensive line-up. It was the player’s express wish to get more game time.
“We wanted to give him the chance to get more playing time at this stage of his career and that’s why we’ve agreed on a transfer with Sevilla. We will keep a close eye on Tanguy’s development, because FC Bayern have the option to bring him back to Munich. Sevilla are getting a terrific and very talented youngster.”
Nianzou joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer from PSG in 2020 and has played 28 games across all competitions, he is also captain of the France U20 team.
