There is a possibility that Bayern Munich may opt not to sign either Nordi Mukiele or Kieran Trippier, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Internally, Bayern are unwilling to overspend on both right-backs due to the current high demands of both PSG and Newcastle United.
There have been talks in recent days with PSG but little progress has been made. Likewise, Newcastle have rejected a bid from Bayern, with the Bundesliga side now willing to walk away from talks completely.
Though not confirmed, there are talks within Bayern to withhold from signing any right-back this winter and save the money for the summer.
With the likes of Kim Min-jae and Noussair Mazraoui both returning soon, the club may feel they have enough defensive cover to last them until the summer.
Both Mukiele and Trippier are keen on a move to Bayern and have both already agreed personal terms with the Bavarian giants.
