Bayern Munich could attempt to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in January as the rekordmeister seek further defensive reinforcements, according to SportBild.
The Englishman is yet to feature for the Premier League side this season, mainly due to a thigh injury sustained in August.
As per the report, Chalobah will seek regular game time elsewhere and is willing to be sold in January. With the upcoming Euros in Germany next year, the 24-year-old wants to impress as much as he can to get into England’s squad for the tournament.
Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel knows the defender from his time at Chelsea and even looked to sign him last summer.
It’s believed that Chalobah won’t come cheap and could cost up to €30m. However, it could be a price that the Bayern board are willing to pay as they urgently need a new addition in their defence.
Currently, only Matthijs de Ligt (knee injury), Dayot Upamecano (thigh injury), and Kim Min-jae are the only available centre-backs.
