Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is still of interest to Bayern Munich and the Bundesliga giants were impressed with his performance in Sunday’s North London Derby defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Bild journalist Christian Falk, who has a transfer column for CaughtOffside, has told GiveMeSport.
Head coach Antonio Conte will no doubt be hoping that the club can hold on to their talisman at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham transfer news – Harry Kane
According to Falk, who was writing in his CaughtOffside column, Kane is still Bayern’s top target in the forward department, although the club do understand how difficult it is to sign an English player from a Premier League club.
However, the 29-year-old only has 18 months remaining on his £200k-per-week contract, suggesting that there is hope for the Bundesliga side in their bid to find a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Journalist Rudy Galetti has told GiveMeSport that Spurs could look to Napoli and Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen as a replacement for the club’s second-all-time top goalscorer.
And Falk believes that if there’s a chance Bayern can sign Kane in the near future, “they will try.”
What has Falk said about Tottenham and Kane?
The Bundesliga insider told GiveMeSport: “Bayern Munich are still keeping an eye on him. I heard they were impressed with his performance yesterday. Although he lost, they saw that he is always able to score.
“Even if his team are playing badly, he is always the man who can change it. They are impressed with how he plays in the box. How fast he is, his aerial ability. They say he’s a complete player and if there’s a chance to get him, they will try.”
How big of a miss would Kane be to Tottenham?
There is no doubt that Kane – who has been dubbed as a “machine” by Ryan Rosenblatt – would be a monumental loss for Tottenham and Conte’s chances of success over the coming seasons, given how important he has been in leading the line over the years.
The England captain has hit the back of the net 265 times in a Spurs shirt, including 17 goals and three assists in 27 appearances so far this season, as per Transfermarkt.
It is therefore unsurprising that with a WhoScored rating of 7.56 for his displays in the Premier League this campaign, England’s joint all-time top goalscorer is ranked as the Lilywhites’ best-performing player in Conte’s squad.
Kane has been awarded a Sofascore rating of 8.0 for his performance in last weekend’s 2-0 North London Derby defeat to Arsenal, having made two successful dribbles out of two and producing a total of four key passes.
The 6 foot 2 striker is much more than just a goalscorer, as he can also drop in and become a playmaking number nine, as shown by the fact he ranks in the top 5% of forwards across Europe’s big five leagues as well as the Champions League and Europa League for progressive passes made per 90 minutes (3.61) over the last 365 days, as per FBref.
Therefore, Conte, Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy will be very concerned about Bayern’s interest in Kane and will be hoping that the 80-cap England international will sign on new terms at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the near future.
