In a statement today, Bayern Munich confirmed that their controversial sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways will not be extended.

Bayern Munich have confirmed that their sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways, which expires on June 30, will not be renewed by mutual agreement.
“FC Bayern and Qatar Airways have worked together successfully and have learned from each other,” said Bayern chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen.
“I would like to thank Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, for this. We wish all Qatar Airways employees all the best for the future.
Bayern have faced plenty of criticism over the deal, which was agreed in 2018, not least from their own fans, who have been protesting against taking money from a country associated with human rights abuses.
