About a year and a half after leaving Bayern Munich for Bologna, Joshua Zirkzee is being linked with a return to the German champions.
According to Sky Germany, the Bayern bosses are discussing the possibility of bringing the striker back to the Säbener Strasse.
With Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s contract set to expire in the summer, Zirkzee could join Mathys Tel in providing backup for Harry Kane.
When Bayern sold Zirkzee to Bologna, they reportedly negotiated a buy-back clause of €20-25 million as well as a sell-on clause of 35-50 percent.
The latter clause could earn Bayern a substantial fee, with Manchester United reportedly among the striker’s suitors.
For now, Bologna are reportedly keen to keep hold of him and have turned down a request from Manchester United to sign him this winter.
