Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has confirmed that the club will not sign a striker in the summer.
Bayern have been linked with a long list of forwards to replace Robert Lewandowski, but Oliver Kahn has confirmed that none of these possibilities will transpire this time around. Eric Choupo-Moting, Joshua Zirkzee and youngster Mathys Tel are options in a true number 9 role. At least for now, Stuttgart’s Saša Kalajdžić can no longer be linked with a move to Bavaria.
Sadio Mané played alone at the top for Nagelsmann’s 4-2-3-1 formation in the Super Cup against RB Leipzig. While it’s a different position than the wider role he played at Liverpool, sticking Mané anywhere up front will probably still work.
Update transfers #FCBayern: As reported in the last days: They don’t seek another striker in this transfer window. Tel should get playing time. The club plans with Choupo-Moting as well. Zirkzee is still for sale but there is nothing hot at this stage. 💰@SkySportDE https://t.co/DjxcLMO9eu

It will be interesting to see if Bayern make any changes up front at the halfway point come winter. Maybe the Mathys Tel project will already be in the works.
