kicker reports that Bayer Leverkusen are interested in PSV Eindhoven forward Malick Tillman as they look to replace Florian Wirtz.
After the sale of Wirtz was confirmed on Friday, die Werkself can now look to how they will replace the 22-year-old. Instead of looking to find a near replacement for Wirtz, which is close to impossible, Leverkusen will share the attacking burden next season and will try to sign several players.
Tillman is one of those players Leverkusen are interested in. The 23-year-old, who was previously at Bayern Munich, will cost in excess of €30m and can play as either an eight, a 10 or even a winger.
Due to the American international’s time at Bayern, Tillman will also count as a local player when it comes to registration requirements. The Rekordmeister also have a €35m buy-back option in his deal with PSV, which could complicate the matter.
Leverkusen have also shown interest in Tillman’s PSV teammate Johan Bakayoko this summer, as well as Como’s Nico Paz. On top of this, Leverkusen have already acquired Ibrahim Maza this summer, who can also play in the same position.
