Barcelona to reopen transfer talks for young attacker next summer

La Liga giants Barcelona intend to reignite efforts to bring in Dinamo Zagreb sensation Cardoso Varela in the summer of 2026.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Monday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of youngster Varela has of course proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last week.

This comes after word was forthcoming that Barcelona sporting director Deco had held a meeting with Andy Bara, the 16-year-old’s agent.

As much came with a view to a future deal for Varela.

And as alluded to above, early this week, an update on the Blaugrana’s ongoing pursuit of the explosive attacker has been forthcoming.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano, after Varela put pen to paper on a new contract with Dinamo Zagreb earlier today:

‘Barcelona are planning to advance on talks to sign Cardoso Varela from summer 2026 as next step.’
