Barcelona are closely monitoring Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque and they are keen to sign him this coming summer, report Mundo Deportivo.
The 17-year-old striker is already a regular in Brazil’s U20 squad and he caught the world’s attention during Athletico Paranaense’s Copa Libertadores final against Flamengo at the end of last year.
Despite interest from some of the best clubs in Europe – including PSG, Chelsea and West Ham – it is believed that Vitor Roque’s preferred destination would be Barcelona. His agent, André Cury, is a former Barcelona employee and he could help facilitate an agreement between Athletico Paranaense and the Blaugrana.
As the youngster will only turn of age on February 28 of this year, Barça are only considering to sign Vitor Roque in the summer, for whom they are set to make an offer worth between €35m and €40m.
Vitor Roque could prove to be Robert Lewandowski’s long-term replacement at the Nou Camp.
