Barcelona pursuing winter move for Brazil forward Vitor Roque

Barcelona are reportedly close to signing Athletico Paranaense star Vitor Roque. 

The 18-year-old is one of the brightest youngsters to have emerged from Brazil. 

Despite his young age, he has already made 57 appearances at Arena da Baixada, with 16 goals to his name. 

The forward is now set to move to Spain as the Catalans are very keen to secure his signature. 

The La Liga giants have held talks with Athletico throughout the entire weekend, and the two clubs are expected to reach an agreement for around €30-35 million. 

However, MARCA report that Vitor will not join Barca during this summer transfer window. 

Given the Catalans high salary mass, they are not in a position to make the economic reservation for the 18-year-old. They must offload their unwanted stars before they can register the player. 

Therefore, the Spanish outfit are pursuing a January transfer for the Brazilian footballer when they will be in a position to register him. 

Barcelona have been dealing with difficult financial issues recently. They wanted to sign Lionel Messi as a free agent but failed in their attempt due to their economic woes. 

The Argentine ultimately decided to join Major League Soccer side Inter Miami but admitted his preference was to return to the Blaugrana. 

Despite the departures of Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets, their failure to sign Messi was a little surprising for everyone. 

It looks like the club’s finances are far worse than everyone had thought before.
