Barcelona are considering to make a move for Nicolas Jackson as an alternative to Ousmane Dembélé, report Mundo Deportivo.
Dembélé’s current deal with the Blaugrana is valid until June 2024, but no progress has been made in terms of renewing his contract and his €50m release clause can easily be triggered by a rival club.
Barcelona are already considering their next move in case that the Frenchman chooses not to extend his stay at the Nou Camp.
The club’s management have identified Nicolas Jackson as an alternative. The Senegalese winger has already made eleven appearances for Villarreal this season, scoring two goals and making three assists.
The 21-year-old’s contract with El Submarí Groguet is set to expire in June 2023 and Barcelona are working on a strategy to secure Jackson in the January transfer window for a lower price or present the player and his representatives a pre-contractual agreement.
