A head-turning update regarding the situation at right-back in the first-team squad at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Monday come to the fore online.
This comes amid claims that Dani Carvajal is expected to act as first-choice in Los Blancos’ XI moving forward.
Xabi Alonso, for his part, opted to shake things up on the right of his backline for the club’s most recent outing.
After summer signing Trent Alexander-Arnold was given the nod from the off on opening day against Osasuna, Dani Carvajal replaced the Englishman yesterday evening, en route to a 3-0 victory over Real Oviedo.
And if the latest word stemming from the media early this week is anything to go by, then those of a Real Madrid persuasion should expect to see plenty more of the latter over the season ahead…
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Carvajal came back from an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the end of last season and sources close to him expect the player to keep his place in Alonso’s XI for a long time, despite Alexander-Arnold’s signing.’
