Fabrizio Romano and Le Parisien are reporting that AS Monaco centre-back Axel Disasi (25) is undergoing a medical ahead of his move to Chelsea.
As reported by The Athletic on Sunday, Chelsea struck a €45m deal with the Principality club. The France international will compensate for the absence of Wesley Fofana, who has been sidelined with a long-term injury. At Stamford Bridge, he will once again link up with Benoît Badiashile, whom he partnered at centre-back for Monaco.
Romano is now reporting that Disasi is in England today in order to undergo his medical and sign a five-year deal with Chelsea. With documents and contracts already exchanged, the deal is almost done, and Disasi will soon become a Chelsea player.
Disasi became a France international last season and featured at the Qatar World Cup. He featured as a right-back for Les Bleus, although he is certainly more of a centre-back by trade.
