Augsburg vs Bayern Munich: Predicted lineups and confirmed team news

Augsburg host Bayern Munich at the WWK Arena in the Bundesliga Topspiel on Saturday evening as both clubs look to maintain their 100 percent start to the 2025/26 campaign.

Sandro Wagner didn’t start with a recognised striker in Augsburg’s 3-1 win against Freiburg last weekend but Phillip Tietz is deemed fit enough to start, and he will likely replace Elias Saad with Mert Kömür retaining his place after being nominated for the Germany U21 squad. Han-Noah Massengo also impressed on his debut and the Frenchman should start in a double pivot alongside Kristijan Jakić.

Augsburg will be without Samuel Essende who is still serving a suspension while Alexis Claude-Maurice works on his return – Dimitris Giannoulis will also face a late fitness test.

As for Bayern Munich, it’s much the same. Vincent Kompany is expected to name the same team that trumped RB Leipzig 6-0 in the opening Bundesliga fixture of the season. Harry Kane already has six goals across all competitions for the Rekordmeister this campaign and will look to add to that on Saturday.

Kompany is still without Hiroki Ito, Alphonso Davies, Tom Bischof and Jamal Musiala.

Bayern Munich (4-2-3-1): Neuer – Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Stanisic – Kimmich, Goretzka – Olise, Gnabry, Diaz – Kane.
