Chrislain Matsima beat Michael Olise to win the “Rookie of the Month” award for March.

Having played a big part in Augsburg’s excellent defensive record, Chrislain Matsima wins the “Rookie of the Month” for the second time in three months. The Frenchman played every minute of league action in March as Jess Thorup’s side only conceded once in four games.
Matsima also won the accolade in the first month of 2025. Augsburg’s 11-game unbeaten streak ended with a 3-1 defeat to league leaders Bayern Munich. The Bavarians will have the chance to regain momentum when they travel to Bochum tomorrow.
Bayern’s wing wizard Michael Olise and Eintracht Frankfurt’s young fullback Nathaniel Brown were in the shortlist to win the monthly trophy for the best Bundeslsiga newcomer. Olise is also among the six nominees for Player of the Month.
