Atalanta get their UEFA Champions League campaign underway with a visit to current holders Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night. They make the trip to the French capital without some key players.
The most glaring absence is that of Ademola Lookman. He has yet to feature for Atalanta this season, after he tried to force through a move away from the Italian club. The situation has destroyed the relationship between the player and the club, and he continues to train away from the first team.
There are also the absences of Sead Kolasinac, Gianluca Scamacca, and Éderson through injury. Mitchell Bakker, meanwhile, will not play against his former club PSG. The defender suffered a cruciate ligament tear over the summer and is a long-term absentee, so he has not even been included in the Serie A side’s UCL squad.
Atalanta likely line-up v PSG
Marco Carnesecchi; Berat Djimsiti, Isak Hien, Giorgio Scalvini; Nicola Zalewski, Mario Pasalic, Marten de Roon, Raoul Bellanova; Daniel Maldini, Nikola Krstovic, Charles De Ketelaere. (L’Éq)
