Aston Villa are interested in bringing Atletico Madrid and Brazil forward Matheus Cunha to Villa Park, Ryan Taylor of the Daily Express has told GIVEMESPORT.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League amid his struggles in Spain, and Villa appear to be a possible destination.

Aston Villa transfer news – Matheus Cunha
Transfer reporter Dean Jones recently told GMS that Villa have held talks about signing Cunha.
The Brazil international only joined Atletico last year after arriving from Hertha Berlin in a £22m deal, as reported by GOAL.
However, he has struggled at the Wanda Metropolitano this season, making just two starts in La Liga (via Transfermarkt).
In total, Cunha has made 17 appearances, failing to score in any of them. As a result, he was left out of Tite’s Brazil squad for the World Cup.
What has Ryan Taylor said about Matheus Cunha and Aston Villa?
The above has not stopped clubs registering an interest in Cunha. According to Taylor, Villa, Leeds United and Wolves are all looking at the Atletico man.
On Cunha, the Daily Express journalist said: “In terms of clubs interested, I know Villa are looking, Leeds as well. Leeds actually looked at him before he went to Atletico Madrid.
“But I do expect Wolves to be in the box seat for that one, but obviously there’s no agreement to date, which does leave the door open to someone else.”

What would Matheus Cunha bring to Aston Villa?
He is obviously having a difficult time right now, but Cunha still has a lot of quality.
“Matheus has something special. He can always produce something with a moment of individual brilliance,” former Hertha Berlin head coach Bruno Labbadia was quoted as saying by the Bundesliga’s official website.
Cunha is also quite a versatile attacker, able to play up front and out wide. From those positions, he has not been the most prolific player in football.
According to Transfermarkt, he has actually only scored 23 goals in 105 appearances as a centre-forward. Considering that, he is probably not going to transform Unai Emery’s side into one of the best attacking teams in the Premier League.
However, if the Spaniard is looking for a forward who can play in more than one role and has experience at a high level, then Cunha could be his man. It seems, though, that he is going to have to see off competition from a couple of clubs in the top flight.
