Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Branco van den Boomen (27) won’t renew his contract with FC Toulouse, and will therefore leave the club on a free this summer. Aston Villa and Leeds United are amongst those interested in signing the player.
It has long been expected that van den Boomen would leave the Ligue 1 club this summer, and despite victory in the Coupe de France, which should see the team participate in European competition next season, this hasn’t changed. The Dutchman’s decision is therefore to leave Toulouse, and he isn’t short of suitors.
According to Romano, PSV, Olympique de Marseille, Feyenoord, Leeds United, Aston Villa, Sevilla, Wolfsburg and Galatasaray are all interested in the midfielder. Van den Boomen has impressed in his first Ligue 1 season, scoring six goals and registering 13 assists in 36 games in all competitions.
Despite his form at club level, van den Boomen is yet to be capped at international level and has only represented the Netherlands at youth level.
