Bild reports that both Aston Villa and Al-Nassr have increased their offer for Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby.
Leverkusen have previously rejected a bid from Villa of around €45m, while reports from France say that Al-Nassr’s bid of €38m was also rejected. Both clubs have submitted another offer in the region of €50m, but Leverkusen still want closer to €60m for the 24-year-old.
Despite Leverkusen playing in the Europa League, Diaby wants to take the next step in his career and a move to Villa would allow him to do that.
However, Leverkusen would still be happy to keep Diaby this season, whose contract expires in 2025 having joined from PSG in 2019 for €15m.
Last season, Diaby finished as Leverkusen’s top scorer with 14 goals in 48 games as the club were able to turn their season around under Xabi Alonso and reach the Europa League semi-finals while also finishing in a Europa League place despite being close to relegation when the Spaniard took charge.
