Arsenal have reportedly joined Manchester United and Liverpool in the race for Chelsea player Mason Mount.
Despite his current deal expiring in June 2024, the 24-year-old is yet to agree new terms with the London outfit.
He has been an important member of the Blues’ team this season, making 35 appearances in all competitions so far.
The young midfielder is closing in on 200 senior appearances for his boyhood club but he is likely to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of this campaign.
Several big clubs including United and Liverpool have already been credited with an interest in him.
And now Arsenal have also joined the race for the England international, according to Goal.com.
The Gunners, who are competing with Manchester City for the Premier League title this season, are keen to make new additions this summer.
West Ham United’s Declan Rice is reportedly their priority target but Mount has also emerged as a target for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The 24-year-old has struggled for form this season but there is no doubt he is still one of the best midfielders in the English league.
He is young and energetic, and has proved his skills in the Premier League.
The England international has been named the Blues’ Player of the Year in each of the previous two seasons.
So far, he has clocked up 195 first-team appearances for Chelsea, with 33 goals and 37 assists to his name.
Mount would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal but they could face tough competition from Manchester United and Liverpool.
