Arsenal want to sign Spanish ace Samu Aghehowa from Porto this summer, according to A Bola.
The Gunners have had a mixed campaign due to injuries and inconsistent form. The club are yearning for a marquee striker to help them win silverware.
Arsenal have reportedly had scouts monitoring Aghehowa, who has been brilliant in his debut season with Porto.
The 20-year-old has bagged 20 goals and three assists in 32 appearances, and he could be on the move during the next transfer window.
Aghehowa won’t suit Arsenal’s playing style
The former Atletico Madrid striker has made a big impression in the Portuguese top-flight. He arrived as a replacement for Evanilson and has already proved his credentials.
There should be high-profile interest in him from the Premier League, but Arsenal are unlikely to make an approach as his playing style may not suit manager Mikel Arteta.
He prefers a striker who is pretty mobile and can link up play. The Spanish tactician also demands a tireless work rate and defensive contributions.
Aghehowa is not known for his distribution. He is more of a traditional number nine. He has struggled in winning ground duels and has a success rate of just 32 percent.
The Gunners are unlikely to make an approach for Aghehowa. The priority could be on landing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig instead.
Sesko will have a release clause between £58m and £66m this summer. The Gunners could make a renewed move for him after a failed attempt before the European Championship last year.
