Arsenal are interested in a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka but no agreement has been reached to bring the player to the Emirates Stadium as of yet, Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has told GiveMeSport.
Mikel Arteta’s Gunners side currently sit top of the Premier League table and are looking to add to their squad during the January transfer window.

Arsenal transfer news – Even Ndicka
Transfer insider Dean Jones has previously suggested to GiveMeSport that Arsenal may have tried to convince Ndicka not to sign a new contract at Frankfurt, with the centre-back set to enter the final six months of his £12k-per-week deal in January.
The Evening Standard revealed back in October that the 6 foot 4 Frenchman has emerged as a target for the north London side, as they look to find a left-sided centre-half who can compete with Gabriel Magalhães.
Jeunes Footeux has claimed that the 23-year-old has a price tag of £13m and revealed that Paris Saint-Germain, Sevilla and West Ham United were also interested in potentially striking a deal for a defender.
Italian source Il Romanista have claimed that Ndicka has already reached an agreement to join Mikel Arteta’s side, but Taylor doesn’t believe this to be true, though the journalist doesn’t rule out interest in the centre-back from the Gunners.
What has Taylor said about Arsenal and Ndicka?
When asked if Ndicka had already reached an agreement to join Arsenal, Taylor told GiveMeSport: “It’s not true. Firstly, he can’t even negotiate with other clubs until he’s in the final six months of his contract, so there’s no chance that’s going to have been agreed already. But that’s not to say that Arsenal aren’t interested, because they are.”
Would Ndicka be a good signing for Arsenal?
The signing of Ndicka would likely be a positive addition to Arsenal’s backline and would no doubt give Arteta some more strength in depth in the centre-back department.
The former France U21 international has made 23 appearances for Frankfurt this season and has helped the Champions League side keep five clean sheets across all competitions, providing an assist of his own along the way, according to Transfermarkt.
The defender is not afraid to put his body on the line in a bid to secure a positive result for his side, ranking in the top 20% of centre-backs across Europe’s big five leagues as well as the Champions League and Europa League for blocks (1.46) and clearances (4.46) per 90 minutes over the last 365 days, according to FBref.
Therefore, it seems that Arteta would be securing the addition of a talented young defender if he and sporting director Edu can convince Ndicka to make the move to the Emirates Stadium, whether that be in January or next summer.
