Antonio Conte reveals he wants to return to management soon

Former Tottenham and Inter boss Antonio Conte has revealed that he is keen on returning to management soon.

Conte hasn’t been in a managerial role since his sack from Tottenham and reports have suggested that he has rejected moves from Napoli, but Milan want the Italian as their next manager after Stefano Pioli’s exit.

Conte recently spoke to The Telegraph about his career so far, his stint at Tottenham, how he has evolved as a manager and what the future looks like for him. He revealed that he wants to win a Champions League title and he is full of energy to return to management.

“My father pushed me to return quickly, but it is important to recharge, physically and mentally. Now my only problem is I have too much energy and I’m annoying my wife!”

“Honestly, I’d like to lift the Champions League as a manager one day. But I know this is very difficult. People think this is simple, but you have to stay in the right club, a club that matches your ambition, a club that is ready to make the final step to win the Champions League. Look at Manchester City. Seven years, no?

“I’d like to give this joy to my father. He said to me ‘I want to see you lift the Champions League’. It’s not simple, but everyone can have a dream.”

It has been reported that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is leading the demand for Milan to hire Conte next season, but it could prove to be a challenge for the Rossoneri. Napoli have been rejected twice as Conte wanted to remain on a sabbatical and stay with his family. It remains to be seen where he ends up but it does seem as if he is keen to return.
