In the wake of Lionel Messi’s move to the United States, France and Atletico Madrid man Antoine Griezmann (32) spoke about his eventual ambition to join the MLS before Les Bleus face Greece at the Stade de France on Monday evening.
Speaking during a press conference attended to by Get French Football News Griezmann said that “It’s a dream of mine” to one day play in the United States, but added that the time “is not right now” to make the move over the Atlantic. The former Barcelona man added that “I want it to be the best possible conditions when I go there, but it’s certainly an objective in the future.”
Griezmann also spoke about Messi’s move to the states upon the expiry of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, saying that “It’s great for the MLS to have Lionel Messi’s image and talent.”
Since re-joining Atletico Madrid Griezmann has made 38 appearances in La Liga and has scored 15 goals domestically. He was elected as the best French player abroad at Get French Football News‘s end of season awards.
