André Gomes to return to Everton as midfielder announces departure from Lille

LOSC midfielder André Gomes (29) has taken to his social media accounts to announce his departure from Lille. The Portuguese midfielder, who was on loan from Everton, had quickly become a key figure in Lille’s midfield after the World Cup, establishing himself as one of the standout performers under coach Paulo Fonseca.

On Sunday, the former FC Barcelona player took to his social media accounts to announce his departure from the northern club. Gomes has made 27 appearances for Les Dogues, contributing 3 goals and 2 assists.

Gomes is set to return to Everton before potentially embarking on a new chapter in his career. In a heartfelt message, the 29-year-old midfielder expressed his gratitude to Lille, stating, “This season has been long and challenging. We would have liked to finish in a better position, but it was not possible. Qualifying for European competitions next season was our priority, and we achieved our goal!

Congratulations to everyone for the hard work and support throughout this season! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for providing us with extraordinary teammates and a high-quality team every day. My family and I have been very happy, and no matter what happens, we love you and you will always be in our hearts!”
