As communicated by Mundo Deportivo, the departure of Ander Herrera from PSG depends on the decision of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.
The former Manchester United midfielder has two years left on his contract with the Parisians. However, he is not part of the plans of the new PSG coach Christophe Galtier as he is counting on Vitinha, Renato Sanches and Marco Verratti instead.
Herrera is ready to leave the French club behind. However, the Ligue 1 champions’ president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is only willing to let him go on a free transfer if the 33-year-old is ready to pay part of his remaining salary back to PSG.
Even though Athletic Bilbao would be interested in signing Ander Herrera to strengthen their midfield, it is unlikely that the Basque side would be willing to pay PSG a fee to secure the services of their former player.
The Spaniard played for Athletic Bilbao between 2011 and 2014, where he accumulated 128 appearances in all competitions.
