Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata’s agent has confirmed that the first round of transfer talks with Inter Milan has gone well.
AS Roma appeared to be the potential suitors for Morata, however, Inter have leapfrogged the Italian capital giants in the transfer race.
Inter met with the Spaniard’s entourage on Tuesday, and the outcome of the meeting has been described as positive.

However, an agreement over the final transfer fee is far from being done, with Atletico steadfast on their valuation worth €21 million.
Personal terms may not be an issue, with Inter willing to offer €5 million per season on a potential four-year deal.
Talks are expected to continue between the two parties to find common ground as Inter manager Simone Inzaghi has chosen Morata as an ideal alternative for Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku had been Inter’s priority target before learning that he was preferring a move to Juventus, causing the Nerazzurri to abandon their pursuit.
As a consequence, the Belgian striker has been receiving several backlash from the fans. A section of the Ultras have also released a statement describing Lukaku’s act as a betrayal.
Although Inzaghi prefers an experienced striker like Morata, Inter have lined up Folarin Balogun as a potential alternative should the Spaniard fail to move to San Siro.
Talks have been initiated with Arsenal for the USMNT striker, with Inter planning to table an offer worth €40 million.
As for Morata, Atletico are expected to give the green light for his departure if their valuation is met.
With Joao Felix also seemingly on his way out, Atletico would have to dip their toes in the transfer market for attacking reinforcements.
