Al Hilal target José Mourinho with meeting set to take place

According to Foot Mercato, Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal is setting its sights on Portuguese coach José Mourinho as a prime managerial candidate. After the failed attempt to sign Lionel Messi, Al-Hilal are reportedly determined to make a statement by securing the services of the experienced manager. The club’s management is reportedly prepared to offer Mourinho a lucrative contract and even allow him to shape the squad by suggesting players he wishes to bring to the club.

Sources suggest that a meeting is scheduled to take place in London next week between Al-Hilal’s owner, Walid Moaz, and Mourinho. The 60-year-old coach, currently at the helm of AS Roma, is expected to entertain the discussion, but is likely to delay any potential decision regarding the offer from the Saudi club. Despite the interest from Al-Hilal, Mourinho is is under contract with the Italian side until June 2024.

Whilst Mourinho was considered a candidate for the Paris Saint-Germain job, he was recently informed by Luís Campos that it was unlikely he would be offered the role.
