Al-Ahli to complete Allan Saint-Maximin & Riyad Mahrez double swoop this week

Saudi Arabian 1st division outfit Al-Ahli are expected to complete the signings of two exciting wingers before the week is up.

Newcastle United and ex-French youth international winger Allan Saint-Maximin is expected to give the final green light to moving to the Saudi outfit on Thursday, according to Mohamed Toubache-TER, despite significant interest from Serie A champions Napoli. Saint-Maximin will earn more than €12m a year and is expected to sign an initial 3-year contract with Al-Ahli, who have agreed to pay €25m plus bonuses to sign the player. Both Newcastle and Al-Ahli are funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

Algerian international Riyad Mahrez in the meantime will also be joining ASM in this bold Saudi adventure. Nabil Djellit, who is personally close to the Mahrez entourage, reports that the Manchester City player has agreed to a 4-year contract with Al-Ahli and will increase his salary by 3.5 times. The fee that the Citizens will receive is €30m plus bonuses for the 32-year-old. The player weighed up the fact that he probably had another two years at the height of European competition, but he feels that he has now won it all in the Premier League. Fabrizio Romano reports that Mahrez will undergo the first part of a medical with Al-Ahli tomorrow.
